I am happy and honored to have the opportunity to share this story with you.  Becoming a massage therapist and yoga teacher has been an adventure for me.  I had typical jobs that one gets after college and graduate school in the policy world and every time I was seeking more...each time I would begin a new position, in less than a year I would be thinking β€œis this it?”  Is this all there is to this?  Many positions and much life evolution later, one thing led to another and I found myself very intentionally applying for massage school.

My experience receiving massage showed me how bodywork can serve as a catalyst for change in one's life by increasing self-awareness. The connections I developed with massage therapists and yoga teachers have inspired me on this journey of self-discovery; I humbly hope the connections I make with clients will be similarly fruitful.

Through integrating techniques from classic (Swedish) massage, sports massage, Thai massage, clinical, noetic, and reflexology, I am prepared to meet clients where they are to determine a productive and beneficial bodywork session. I want to talk briefly if you are interested in the approach I take. And if working together further makes sense, we can schedule an initial appointment to see what your goals and desired outcomes are and move forward together from there.

I graduated from Arbor College, School of Massage, Knoxville, TN in January 2015 - trained in the student clinic and enjoyed a mentorship with Amber Lynn Vitale - started building a private practice in Knoxville and unexpectedly relocated to Chicago.  I have worked at Urban Oasis, Space Time Tanks, Union League Club of Chicago, and worked with private clients over the past 3 1/2 years.

My yoga practice has been 14 years in the making. And has translated into life changing events off the mat! I completed the 200-hour Glowing Body Teacher Training course in May 2013 with Cindy Dollar of Asheville, NC. My approach to teaching is focused on alignment-based asana practice. I teach to varying levels of students and work to teach to whom is in front of me. Influential teachers include Julie MaWhorter, Jeff Scheafknocker, Cindy Dollar, Gabriel Halpern and teachers at Yoga Circle in Chicago, as well as my dogs and myown experience.

Besides massage school and yoga teacher training, I completed a bachelor of arts in economics from UNC Chapel Hill and a master of arts in global environmental policy from American University.  I have had a myriad of work experiences and life experiences that all inform the work I do.
